The School Day

Morning arrangements

Learners arrive at school between 9:00am and 9:15am, ready to begin the school day from 9:00am. Morning registration takes place at 9:15am. Any learner arriving after 9:15 will be marked as late.

In line with guidance outlined in their EHCPs, most learners travel to and from school via taxi or minibus. This transport is arranged by the Children, Schools and Families Directorate at County Hall, Truro. Families also have the option to bring their children themselves if they prefer.

Upon arrival, learners are met by school staff, who greet and support them from the vehicle into school. If you have any questions or concerns about transport arrangements, please contact the Passenger Transport Unit on 01872 322003 (via the Council's information centre).

Lunchtime arrangements

Hot meals are freshly prepared and served each day by CleverChefs. While we encourage all learners to enjoy a hot school meal, packed lunches are also welcome. Packed lunches should be brought in a named lunchbox or suitable container.

All school meals should be paid for in advance—weekly, half-termly, or termly—via Arbor, which is also used for other paid school activities such as trips. When your child enrols you'll be sent an activation email for your Arbor account, please contact the school if you require your login details to be sent again. Once your account is set up, remember to top up regularly under the appropriate section.

If you think your child may be eligible for free school meals, please contact the Free School Meals Department at County Hall on 0300 1234 100

End of day arrangements

The school day finishes at 2:30pm, our staff will bring the children to their taxi or parent/ carer at the end of the day.

A typical school week consists of 27.5 hours of structured learning and activities.
